robberies

hi everyone i dont want to worry anyone with this post but we keep getting told from time to time watch out for the robbers stopping us and taking our stuff. As it is our first time going over to france this is slightly alarming, is this rife or is it just the odd incident, has anyone had dealing with this sort of thing i hope not.Also what is the best advice on this issue. By the way this would not put me off our trip as we are looking forward to it so much. thanks
