Required documents- overseas touring- security

When we are in Europe we carry all the documents needed in our motorhome. What should we do when we leave the van?t

The wedge of documents is thick and the risk of losing them significant,but leaving the on the van is troubling. If stolen the thief has everything!

Why in this age of electronic messaging can't the  documents simply be kept on line?
