Parking at Calais - WARNING

Good morning everyone!

I received the following e-mail yesterday:

If like me you plan to stay on the car parking area near the Calais ferry terminal  prior to catching an early morning ferry– BEWARE! For many years we have arrived in the early morning following a midnight sailing from Dover and then arriving back in Calais in the late evening for a morning sailing back to Dover – this is no longer possible as the parking area has now been restricted to only about 8 lines of 10 bays and these are now filled with single cars. There is an enclosed parking area for which the first ½ hour is free but then the cost escalates rapidly – 8 hours costs about 23 Euros. Could you please ensure all travellers via this route are warned about the changes

Has anyone else been to Calais recently? Is there anywhere else to park up overnight? I would like to put this in the Club magazine, but would like to offer an alternative!

Any feedback more than welcome! Laughing
