P & O Dover crossing times

I notice some P & O Dover to Calais sailings take 90 minutes and others 120 minutes. This seems to depend on the type of ship. Does anyone know whether this is just fuel saving or are there other reasons. Not sure that I want to spend 2 hours cruising across the Channel when they used to do it in 55 minutes! Checking the boat seems critical for a speedy crossing.

Just got back from France on P&O. 90 minutes crossing time both ways but received an email 2 days before my return crossing telling me they'd moved my crossing back 1 1/2 hours and extended the check in time from 45 minutes to 60. No reason given.

The service on board was pretty rubbish as well. On the way out the staff were constantly asking each other where places were and what they needed to do. Didn't inspire any confidence at all.

Given my crossing experience and the way they treat their staff I won't be using them again.

P&O shifted my outbound back in May, entailing a rescheduling of my overnight stop on the way down to Annecy. Coming back I had an E Mail about four days before our return, again shifting my sailing time, followed 36 hours later by a further Email shifting the time yet again. How people with no Email whilst on the road fare I have no idea. No back-up text either.

So JVB you won’t be going on a train again either

I wish I was paid what rail staff get compared to NHS staff more in need of better treatment

Why wouldn't I use trains when it is Free travel

Ps I get discount on P&O ferries but will not use them again

I won’t use P&O guaranteed, purely because of the fact they intended to sail with untrained staff. They thought they could scam the MCA(Maritime & Coastguard Agency) that ended badly👍🏻

So basically no one knows why the crossing on one boat is 90 mins and another 120?

no need to relive past discussions

i was only curious.
