Last year ( Sept to Dec 12) we went on an 11 week tour around northern Germany.  We called into Colditz, but hadn't been able to find any info on parking or overnight stop.  anyway we parked in Lidl car park which had 3 motorhome parking places and walked around village.  There is a very small tourist info, which had a notice in the window about overnight parking for motorhome, which turn out to be a small car park,  by some garages, next to a derelict building, but seemed a safe area so stayed.  The next morning on walking the 5 minute walk to Colditz Castle a gentleman stopped us and asked how we found out about parking, as he has a motorhome and is trying to encourage his local councillors to make it into a proper site to encourage tourism. (We are having the same problem in our own town in Saffron Walden).  Should anyone be interested the site address is:-

Am Tiergarten 5, 04680 Colditz it just has a motorhome parking sign there.

Germany is a lovely place to visit it seems to get missed by many people, preferring the Bavarian area.
