Is playa Joel worth the effort to visit?

I have never been abroad and my unit is ok if not too hilly.

I like look of Playa Joel in N spain.  It would be Us 2 and our 9 year old Son.  Is this site worth the long drive and expense of a ferry crossing?  Is the Site compatable for rubbish caravanners like us?

We like fun, wildlife and food.  We love beaches and friendliness adn I speak spannish  so to be able to practise would be good too.

would love some honest reviews and advice.
