Hygiene Concern

On a recent trip to Brittany we stayed at a very nice capsite near Carnac but I was a bit concerned about some hygiene standards. The sanitary facilities generally were very good and clean but it was some of the fresh water supply that concerned me. The question is, what should I do about it to help safeguard other users ?

Where we were pitched there was a very convenient water tap adjacent to the swimming pool. This was absolutely fine but, typical of many French sites, grey water had to be disposed of at the motor van dump point which was on the other side of the site. On that side of the site there was only one water tap, as far as I could see, other than the water filler hose for the motor vans but this was just laying on the ground in the concrete 'dump' area and also used to flush off the area. Not very hygienic. The other tap which was on the end of the toilet block, I discovered later in the stay, was not only a fresh water supply but was also the only water available to rinse out toilet cassettes. Although there was an emptying point for the cassettes in a small room within the toilet block next to the tap there was no water available in the room other than the flush button.

This is probably a 'British' problem as our continental cousins don't use much water at all and get their small plastic containers of water from the taps at the washing up or veg preparation sinks. We Brits, on the other hand, use Aquarolls which would be impossible to lift up to the sink or impossible, in this instance, to fit a flexible filler hose on the tap. I'm faiirly certain that there was no other tap anywhere.

Other than this concern, the site was excellent but without naming the site how can I warn others of a possible health problem. The site is listed in Caravan Europe.
