French sat-nav regulations

I read in the March edition of the Magazine that sat-nav systems that warn of fixed speed camera locations are now illegal to use in France and that non-compliance can result in a hefty fine and confiscation of equipment.

If I were to tranfer the camera location info from the sat-nav to a printed atlas and my map reader wife was to inform me of camera locations, is there a chance that she could be confiscated? Now that's a thought!!
