After making a reservation for a Channel Tunnel crossing I recieved an e-mail stating that SANEF the major French motorway operator is now offering Telepass tags to British Motorists. We purchased one last month and it makes the access and egress from the French motorway toll sections so much easier, especially since the normal toll booths are on the left hand side of the toll booths. The tag, which you fix to your windscreen behind the interior mirror, enables you to drive through the toll booths without stopping and saves both time and the hastle of paying by either cash or card.

There's a small charge for the tag and the fes are collected by Direct Debit but we found the system well worth the small fee. Its a pity there's no discount on the tolls for using the system. Lets hope the Italian motorway operators will follow suit.

SANEF have an office in the Uk where the tags can be purchased from.
