Folk may be interested to know that Sanef Tolling are now extending their Liber-t automatic toll payment service to UK motorists. This avoids the need to find the change or your debit/credit card normally needed if travelling the Autoroutes, instead you can whiz through the 'Telepeage Sans Arret' lanes just like the French do.

Toll costs are the same as if you were paying by cash (plus 2% exchange costs). There is an initial cost of around 10 Euros to open an account. a 6 Euro annual fee from the second year onwards and a 5 Euro 'active usage fee' for each month the tag is used.

You pay a fully refundable 20 Euro deposit for the 'tag'

Mine came through an offer via. Eurotunnel, which waived the 10 Euro set-up fee and halved the 6 Euro annual fee.

All costs are monthly in arrears and debited by DD the following month.

Having suffered the indignity of missing the 'hopper' on an Autoroute last year and scattering our cash all over the lane and under the car we are definitely getting one.....

Thought I'd share (and sorry if this has been common knowledge for some time or posted before but it's the first I've been made aware of it despite driving to France pretty regularly)
