First overseas trip to Germany.

Hi. I am planning on our first overseas trip this year in our Caravan and am considering going to Germany in August. Reading other threads I plan to travel over on the Eurotunnel, overnight in France then drive down to the Black Forest region near Frieburg. I would appreciate any helpful information, especially on the best route to take or areas to avoid and anything else which may be of help. Many thanks.
