Ferry or Eurotunnel?

Well, the prices are up for Eurotunnel for next July/ August.   Using the cheapest crossings the days we want to travel,  with the dog and caravan it's going to cost £250 exactly.   Even without any codes Dover to Calais would cost less than half of that.  Can't believe the difference.

Now it's decision time.  We were always a bit dubious about leaving the dog on her own in the car on the ferry so we thought we would take the tunnel.  The price differential is now making  me think twice anout the tunnel.

What would you do?  I'll pop back later to see what you all think.
