Ferry Booking Amendment

Last Wednesday, I had the misfortune to fracture my wrist; a trip to A&E resulted in my arm in a plaster. We were gutted as we were due out on the ferry to France this week.

No worries – pay the £20.00 amendment fee and any extras, and re book for July.

So we checked the club ferry booking service, and DFDS had dates and times that we decided to use, we wrote them down, this took no longer than 5 minutes. Then ‘phoned the club.

After 35 minutes, we had what we requested, paid the extras, and requested an email with our amendment booking reference.

It then occurred to me if I had to do that whilst I was inFranceit would have cost me a fortune in ‘phone calls. My question is ‘why cannot amendments be made thru the booking service on the web site?’

No doubt the clubs response to this will be, ‘we were experiencing high volumes of calls on Thursday, and apologise for any inconveniences incurred’. Beware if you have to make a booking change, it will take at least 30 minutes, and it’s now Monday, and we still haven’t received any email confirmation for our amendment!
