El Mirador Camper Area, Crevillent

It looks like a new camperstop is being developed in Crevillent but there is precious little information about it on-line.  It looks like a possible alternative - albeit rather more basic - to staying at Alannia Costa Brava which is fully booked for the 2024 winter rally.

Has anyone actually stayed or visited it ?

Don't forget camping las palmeres, just before you get into Crevillente. Stayed there a couple of times while Alannia was being built (Marjal back then). We got to chose our pitches then even before they were built!

I've also checked Las Palmeres and they don't have any pitches free, just bungalows cry

Seems all the popular places are absolutely choc-a-bloc this year.

Alannia Costa Blanca seems to have plenty of availability. I've just checked dates for this month, and for 4 weeks from mid January to mid February.

That will on pitches outside of the winter rally. I think JimE is referring to rally pitches when he says they are all full.

I've looked at both;  the rally pitches are fully booked for when I want to stay.

Spaces are available elsewhere on the site but I don't like the look of them (see photo) - they look more like "aire" pitches squashed together with no delimiting hedges. Plus they charge an extra 2€50 a day for dogs. 🐶

Maybe I might just have to give Alannia a ring to see what they can offer, but I do like the proximity of the new Crevillent camperstop to the town centre, supermarkets and cafes

Jim, I have stayed on the non rally pitches and didn't think they were that bad. Have you thought of trying Alannia Guardamar but don't go for the ACSI pitches. Perhaps JK can add his pennyworth?

Here's my pennyworth.

All the standard pitches at Alannia are 10m x 9m. As with most European sites you pitch how you like meaning some outfits only 2 feet apart. There are larger ones further down the site on the left just past the roundabout. These are basically 2 pitches with the middle hedge removed so approx 180m square. I had the RV on one of those for 6 years. The rally occupies 300 pitches at the bottom end of the site but there are hardly any hedges there as that part stands mostly empty apart from the winter rally. The acsi pitches in Jim's photo are at the front of site just past security. It's a large 1500 pitch site which used to become a small village in winter when it was always full with all nationalities but I think since the present company took over people (including myself) have found elsewhere to go. Last January we visited friends there and it was only a third full with 2 of the 5 facility blocks closed. Times change.

The Guardamar site is very nice but has gone over to more cabins.

The camper stop looks good and it's well placed as it's at the Moroccan end of Crevillente town. There's some great places there where you can haggle over prices, good fun and nice people. I had a shave in a Moroccan barbers there once, that was an experience let me tell you!!

I have stayed at the Guardamar site a few times over the years, most recently this year. Your comments about the change of ownership were interesting. I had a feeling all was not as it used to be at Guardamar, difficult to put my finger on the difference but it was perhaps more noticable at the restaurant and bar, it just did not feel the same as in previous visits. The other facilities and pitches were much the same as they had always been, very good although I could not get the on pitch satellite TV feed to work and couldn't get any sense from reception as to what might have been the problem. I was left with the suspicion it wasn't working or available any more? Nevertheless at 25 euros a night it was good value for money.
