Dogs to northern France

Will be travelling to France for the firsty time in a few months and am busy making perparations. Have any members experienced UK vets charging up to £70 per dog for tick and worm treatment prior to leaving the UK? I assume there may be different varieties of ticks and worms, however, find it difficult to believe that the French would pay this for their domestic animals. Appreciate any advice/experience you may have.
