Dogs abroad

Hi all, we are new to this sort  of thing....never done  Facebook, twitter etc....but not to the club having owned trailer tents, tourers and now are precious motorhome....we are considering taking our dog to France but it seems such a faff..anyhow would like some feed back on how easy/messy it is re:passports, vets abroad etc. and what about eating out in France is it like here or less accessible....your views and experiences will be much appreciated .
