Hi there, we are first time posters in need of advice for traveling through France and Spain with a caravan.

My wife and I are retiring at the end of March and planning a three month tour from mid April with our twin axle van.

Most of the info we've read on this forum concerning this subject seems to be motorhome specific and therefore, we are seeking caravanning advice, specifically recommended routes, suitable sites and advice on whether advance bookings are advised on certain sites especially in Spain for extended stays.

We would be grateful for anyone taking the time to pass on any information.

Thanks in advance Steve and Lorraine.

I am looking to do a three month trip next year so good luck with yours.

Certainly the infrastructure in France is light years better than the UK.

My fav place was the Dordogne it's simply stunning.

I did 1200 miles in a two week period and I really wouldn't recommend that to anyone!

Remember to get a Crit Air sticker for France if you intend sightseeing in any cities. My first one failed to arrive and I m still waiting for the 2nd one to be delivered. There's also a good You Tube video of how to circumnavigate Rennes the easy way (left of the riverbank). I found it useful to identify waypoints. Baie de Somme services (West coast) are a good comfort break for caravans but it can get busy.

 Enjoy  your travels .
