Brittany Ferries

Starting to look at planning for June next year. Going out Plymouth to Santander back Roscoff to Plymouth. I normally book through club and buy 4 site vouchers to get deal. Not booked direct with Brittany before but their flex ticket looks good. Comparing club price which doesn’t seem to give combined deal this year and Flex ticket Brittany seems £60 more expensive but as name suggests more flexible. Anybody got any advice?

Rufs, I didn’t know that.  The Brittany Ferries website only says that flexible tickets allow alterations up to 4 hours before the outward journey, but doesn’t mention changes for the return journey. That’s why I thought one had to book two separate flexible single tickets to get round that problem.

interesting, but i have a return ticket Portsmouth - Caen for 2023 (just one ticket) outbound and inbound are  marked as FLEXI and of course you pay a premium for both trips so I dont see why the rules should be different, must admit never needed to change the inbound but regularly change the outbound, but have seen others on CT who have reported changing the inbound as a result of running late etc.

As mentioned the days of the extremely good ITX etc savings have gone-my single Plymouth to Roscoff this year was only slightly cheaper than my 2019 return.

Personally have never seen the need to book flexi, on the basis that it would take something serious to cause an issue and then the cost would likely be immaterial and, whilst I am often chasing my tail that's not the case when heading for a ferry booked months previously.

I could see this happening to people heading for Dover say, with the traffic chaos one can encounter, but there you have the bonus of another one coming along soon which you don't have with BF from Plymouth.

And if something does befall me, then my travel insurance will cover it.

re the amendment fee this is what the BF website says today which could be read, maybe as euror did, that after the 4 hrs prior to boarding has passed there will be a fee?

FLEXI
Amendments (on booking)
Free
up to 4 hours before departure.
£20 amendment fee thereafter

Thank you both for clearing that up. The B/F website misled me.
