A bit of a Spanish eye-opener

Went yesterday to have a look at Camping Marjal at Guademar Segura.  Lovely camp site (quite expensive though) totally spoilt by a smelly canal running along two sides of the site.  Wonder why the Spanish are so reluctant to let dogs anywhere near beaches but are happy to let situations like this exist....? (In case you cannot see the canal part of the photo in detail, it is full of plastic bottles, fishing line and other miscellaneous rubbish and the water is filthy looking)
