Would you believe it?

Just had a few days at Splash Farm in Derbyshire, having thought it looked a good site in a part of the world we really like.

Setting up I saw a large plastic box and inside was a long aerial cable and a plug point.  Trailing the cable to van and then I went to screw the cable into junction box and found there was no plug on the end.  No problem, I just waited for the owner to pop round and I asked him if he happened to have another plug.  'I'll find you one, er...is there a digi box in the the plastic container'?  'I didn't see one'!......

'Oh no, not another one'!  There were no plugs or digi box, all taken by previous campers.  He said that he has to regularly go to ebay for more remote controls.

Human nature never fails to surprise.

We were at Splash Farm last week too, owner called to check all ok when we arrived, asked if we'd found the box containing digital box and lead for television. .. no not seen one. Previous person on our pitch had taken the lot!! surprised Unbelievable!  yell Mick  also told us it was always happening. It's lucky he keeps spares.

As the container from our pitch was also missing we returned our box and lead to the plastic box on pitch opposite. We did email Mick to let him know , as he wasn't around when we left.

It's a lovely site, shame about some of the users.

Not sure if we were on the site at the same time? We left on Sunday.

Know and love Splash Farm well! That is disgraceful behaviour isn't it, owners bend over backwards to make sure visitors have a really good stay. If I was owner I would be putting a refundable deposit on the equipment for those who want to use it. Members as well, they should be ashamed.surprised

H&T.....we were in the Autotrail on pitch one and were there the same time.

I thought I was pushing my luck asking for another connector, not realising that people actually have the nerve to steal the complete outfit.

A deposit would be the sensible solution.

If you got home and found the sites remote still in van, wouldn't you quickly nip to post office and send it back?

A nice site and we will be back later this year, handy for the High Peak Trail ect.
