Hi,

Has anyone got experience of the walk from WH CL to the actual vllage, specifically at night?

There's a pub we fancy but can't guage if the road has pavements or not to and from the Hall

1 Take a torch

2. Wear bright clothing

3 Check the route on street view.

so do you have experience?

Hi there kdee69 - I'd say your best bet here, if you havent already, is to contact the CL directly as they wil have first hand knowledge of the specfic route:

Good luck and enjoy your stay!

The CL is on the estate, near the hall. The pub, (Wortley Arms?) is just at the top of the estate drive in the village. Wortley Village is only small. Good sensible shoes, wear something light at night and a torch and you will be fine! Nice pub, good food, enjoy!

Thaks for this, I had done Street View already but I know from previous times, that the posters on these boards can often point to different routes other than the direct routes Street View shows.

This is really helpful and Helen, thank you - bizarrely I'd not considered ringing the site! So thanks

Wortley Hall to the village is approx half a mile walk up the drive, turn left at the top of the drive and the pub is approx 100 yards opposite the church. There is also a bar/bistro in the hall itself which you may use.The walk is a gentle uphill and on Tarmac but take a torch if in the dark. The TransPennine trail is just down Finkle Street or can be reached by the path behind the church.Pleasant walks in the grounds of the hall as well.
