This is just wrong

I have just looked at the new CLs for this month.  There is one in wales called Good Life, in the write up on the cl page it states £12 P/N + 2 adults, and then looked at their web page it states from £15 per night.  i just think that either the club or CL owner need to polish up their act, it is so miss leading.

I think being new, a lot of them are learning and quite happy to alter aspects that originally seemed a good idea, but with hindsight might put a few visitors off booking. Most CL owners are very accommodating if you mention something, or suggest an alternative way of doing something. Particularly if they are not getting the expected bookings. As an example, we use a CL that belongs to someone who has a brother who also runs a CL. Talking to both of them, it was obvious to us why one was thriving, the other not doing as well. We made the suggestion, they gave it a try, and now things have improved. It was obvious to us, but at the time not to them. Didn't cost a penny either.

The CL section of the CC website, when putting in Good Life brings up the CL and has this:

  • From until
£12 per Pitch with EHU + 2 adults

Please note this is the minimum you can expect to pay and pitch fees may be subject to variation - please check direct with the site before booking. This is also a good opportunity to check the availability of specific facilities to suit any special requirements you or a member of your party may have.

Accepted payment method(s): Cash, Cheque

Deposit required: £10

Booking deposit required Paypal accepted

Please contact the CL direct to book

Like most CL details it has the caveat of the minimum.

Write your comments here...But on thier web page it says nothing about £12 per night only the higher price.  thats what i find anyoying, and this was in the CC CL page not in the book.

All CLs operate a "prices from...." policy. They have too because the Handbook is only published and distributed bi annually. There are also a few that fail to update prices in the handbook, and at times on their own websites. It is always best to confirm the price either by email are phoning prior to booking, especially if it is a CL you haven't used before. We always do this and haven't had any problems.

Write your comments here...this was on the cc cl page I never mentioned the book.

This subject is now properly aired in the Sticky on New CL's starting at page 44.

Basically this is a brand new CL which was originally priced at £15 per night but several advised that that was a bit OTT and the owners reduced to £12.50 on a temporary basis  until the site becomes better known.  Sounds very nice and a great deal of money and effort expended to date to establish it.

All explained in the other thread!
