Hi. Has anyone got any info on Stourhead Estate since it was refurbished at the end of last year ?. Any comments good or bad. Has the refurb improved the site. I have stayed there a couple of times and I did enjoy it but would be very interested in any new reviews.

I visit Stourhead quite often but can't help you about any updates. I didn't notice any major changes (that might be lack of observation!) but you could ring the estate for more information.

There was some discussion about the CL at Stourhead in the CL section of the forum recently but I haven't been able to find it.  Perhaps someone else will remember

Helensrock...apologies I knew you meant the CL but I didn't notice it was closed when I visited.

It is strange that no one has posted a review since before it closed. Perhaps those that are keen on it don't want more people going. I would love to go back there dispite my review showing that there were things that I felt were a problem, but they certainly weren't serious enough to stop me from using it again.

It's on the NT Stourhead web site with a contact number, it's not one of the best placed CLs but very useful for visiting the estate and local area. I'll be over there again soon so will report back if no-one updates CT with more information.

Hi everyone. Well we had a break at Stourhead CL  and I must say it was quite nice. The new position of the CL is set in the field which once adjoined the CL approx 100 yards back from its original position. Still reasonably close to the entrance to Stourhead gardens although  too close to the visitors car park for my liking. I must say that the pitches are rather squeezed in and although the hard standings are ok I think they should have been a bit bigger. Once you have set up your caravan/motorhome there is nowhere to park a car by the side as you would be on the grass and they say please do not park your car on the grass :( I assume they mean that you park at the front which is what we did but that reduces the width of the road. Would it not have been better to have a wider hard standing for parking and awning ? The new area for recycling/ grey waste etc is a big improvement on the previous area. There is even a flush toilet would you believe though I would still like to have a hose to clean everything out (know what I mean) which was lacking. All in all it is a big improvement and if you are NT members then it's good value. This was our 3rd visit to Stourhead and if you are looking for a short break then it is fine bar the above negatives.
