We have just returned from a long weekend away on a basic CL , for the 3 nights we were there it was full , chatting to the owner of 25 years he was well pleased this year thus far has been its busiest for a long time , and forward bookings at looking good too .

Hopefully the Basic CL will survive and prosper

  • Thanks Wye, that cheers all those who use basic CLs . Did he express a reason why he had a good year? Could it be the modern technology that people are beginning to embrace or was it just 'one of those things' Where is it?

We use a lot of basic CLs, location is usually the key to how busy they are. Good to hear that the one you visited is doing well, and I hope others are thriving as well.

Good news Wye It certainly looks as though something has changed in that CLs fortunes doesn't it?  Great news and long may their fortunes continue to prosper.  I had a basic CL in the 1980s I don't recall any having hook up then but I was on a horse, animals and children break from caravanning at that time.  My guests certainly enjoyed helping milk the goats and collecting eggs etc!

When did hook up start sweeping the CL network?

Just to clarify we spend more than 50% of our away time on CLs, Stellplatze, Sostas and Aires in many countries every year.

With 2 x 6Kg Calor Lites and a 110amp leisure battery we seem to manage very well...even an hour or two of TV on occasions...we are never away for more than 4 weeks.

On normal forums 'Stickies' are a permanent thread intended to display important information in a precise way....not to host hundreds of posts submitted by all and sundry.

It's always worth noting the Smilies usedwink
