Seeking inspiration for a CL with a great view

I will have to have a look at that review🤔 We have stayed a good few times, on both areas of the CL, and we stayed in the farm cottage earlier this year, so we have never had any problems😁 

Thanks for mentioning the Northumberland CL, we are always on look out for a good stop up there.👍

Edit: just looked at review. Sounds like a one off to me, but not doubting what’s written. All I can say is other than the odd sheep (they were lambing when we were there in March) I can’t recall seeing much of cattle. They are other side of farm. It’s a very nice location for lots of places around.😁

Vacancy at Drake House so we have booked for two weeks. Oh no! Not another Ordnance Survey map. We have two drawers full already. Love to explore a new to us area and despite caravanning for about 20 weeks a year for the last fifteen years we have never stayed in Lancashire. 

I will take notice of what you say Takethedogalong and try Seat house another year as it is in an area we haven't been to for a long time.

Just occurred to me that photo was taken before I retired. Perhaps it is time I changed it.

Great choice and hopefully you'll be lucky enough to get one of the pitches at the front with a full view of Pendle Hill.

It was lovely when we visited, but it’s all about the location rather than neat square pitches, an old school CL. Grass, but it had been wet when we took MH and we had no problems. The deer sightings are guaranteed, almost up to van when we stayed. My review is still on there. Brougham Castle is well worth a visit and not far away. It’s one we shall go back to again. 👍

I have noted that CL M thanks. We drove through Forest of Bowland and Pendle area back in March, while staying in cottage at Seat House, and found it stunning. We said then we need to explore around there, as Lancashire is fairly unknown to us as well. Be good as part of a tour, we want to see Formby statues as well.

The photo is lovely, I’d leave it😁 We love OS maps as well, and shot into a local PO to buy one for Our drive to Pendle!😂

 Mmm! Perhaps I can persuade hubby after our five weeks away to come home via Cliburn. It is only about 50 miles each way out of our direct journey It would be good to visit the Lakes in late autumn and I need to make up for the five months of caravanning that we have missed. I'll take some jumpers with me.

It’s a basic Site, nothing fancy, but a delightful location. I think we passed another CL in Cliburn as we were trying to find our Site, which looked more manicured (if you get my drift😂) We parked up on what had been the old railway line, so it was slightly elevated and drained well. I would take a look on Google Earth to see if it suits. Price was excellent, not sure how much it is now. We were treat to a stunning sunset looking over the hills, and it was a good Dark Skies site. 

Another with a grand view is Slapestone Villa, just outside of Penrith, looking south to the Lakeland hills surrounding Ullswater. Should you consider using it another year make sure you book well in advance as it's a popular site.
