Prices gone mad.

Just looked at one of our favourite CL with a view of going away early Jan. Basic price now "from" £18-50. Awnings £1-50. Showers extra etc. Bear in mind its squeezed in between two commercial sites under the same ownership and you have to wonder. Another off our list. Makes even CC sites look reasonable at this time of year. Are Cls now pricing themselves out of the market, or moving on to the commercial sector.

Agree, tried to book a CL yesterday, cost £20 per night plus 50p for showers i.e. £21 per night.  Feed back on this CL are mixed too!  Booked club site instead 10 miles away just £1.50 per night more. We love CLs but this one is only 0.25 acres and many previous visitors say it can feel cramped, not  what I want in a CL. I guess location is everything.

We use LMP quite often as we have friends we visit just west of Ruthin.

We tried a CL just outside Ruthin, but were not impressed by the potholed access, the rather long grass and the poor disposal facilities.

We do not really want to tow the van too far into north Wales as some of the roads are not great, so usually use LMP and drive over to Ruthin.

We looked at using your site Ian as it looks very nice, but the additional distance to drive has ruled it out so far. Hopefully one day we wil be able to visit.

You could try Lleweni ParcCL  KjellNN or the commercial site in Denbigh Tyn-yr-Eithin. The facilities are not great and it is mostly statics but the touring pitches are well kept, have great views and the owner is very friendly and works hard to keep the site pristine.

Cl's do have extra costs for the owners but I doubt that, given that most sites are one acre or less, they would make anything like as much from an agricultural crop given all the costs and time that would entail....
