We've just come back from our 1st ever CL trip to Gorsgoch Farm in Anglesey. So far we've only done larger sites with facilities etc. We had a good time and enjoyed the informality & peace & quite. We turned up at the site pitched where we wanted and got on with our holiday.

We will now visit other CL's and also in the future return to Gorsgoch Farm.

CL's are a nice change from busy club sites. Each have their place and offer a wonderful variety to our trips. Great ain't it? 😉

Yeah Bakers its nice to have the choice of either a full service club site or the peace and tranquility of a CL.

1st time on a CL, was a revelation to us after going on club sites for six years, this is defiantly the way forward.

I have always been to CLs except if I had a voucher or two. CLs are so much more relaxed then the big busy Club or Commercial sites but everyone to their own. Some love the peace and quiet of the countryside while others live next to a Motorway- non EHU  CLs for me every time.

Non EHU!!!!!

Fraid thats a step to far for us right now Merve.

Don't think I'll ever want non EHU. How do you cook, wash etc?

Perhaps I just need to think differently

You have the option of using gas for cooking & heating. For a week end, your battery would probably last you as long as you were careful with the use of tellys etc.

Glad all those new to CLs have enjoyed themselves! It is another world away from larger more organised sites, and CLs offer so much variety.

FB, just get to know how your MH works using gas, and you will be away on no hook up Sites. Very nice in Summer, often lovely and quiet. Your water heater, van heating, fridge and cooker will all work well on gas. You just need to be a bit organised about charging phones and gadgets, but lots of technology out there. Admittedly, we seldom bother with a TV, but for some folks this is a must. A solar panel would help of course as well. Merv's coping without EHU thread is a mine of good information. smile

As already said, you can use gas for cooking, washing, fridge runs on gas, as does (water)heating.  If you get a solar panel fitted you'll be able to keep your battery topped up, and with careful use, even watch TV!  Must admit we don't bother much with TV, especially in summer.

When we go to France for 6-7 weeks, probably half that time or more we don't use EHU, just battery power and gas.  Gives more options of where to stay and also on some sites pitches without EHU can be in a nicer (quieter) part of a site.

It's good to have another CL lover among us FB.cool

I use them in preference to the larger sites and have booked seven or eight already for later this year.smile
