On Reflection

As the new year has arrived, we sat this morning reflecting on the places and sites we have visited in the last year. We mainly use CLs, so I asked which was the best CL and which would we go back and visit again? We both came up with a number of places for one reason or another but struggled to pick a 'Best One'. We narrowed it down to two:

Willow Cottage at Burgh le Marsh Lincolnshire. Lovely quiet site with wildlife on view around the pond, two very good restaurants close by, The Windmill and a tapas menu available in The Lakes.

Tree Tops Farm at Hemingby Lincolnshire.  Another quiet CL with open countryside views over the Lincolnshire Wolds. The CL is on a hilltop looking over three other villages in the distance. Great for watching the thunder storms gather and roll over the site.....which they did! Needless to say both are run by lovely people which adds to our memories as well.
If you had to choose a "best site visited for 2015" could you?
Happy New Year to you all.

For value and location, for me it was 'Marli Farm' a CL near St.Asaph, North Wales.

Well maintained block of two toilets, one shower (20p for 5 minutes), EHU, view over the valley towards Rhyll and all for £10 inclusive of awning. That was the price I paid last year and there is no indication on the site that it has increased.

Looks good Dave, but it does say narrow roads. How narrow and for what sort of distance from a main road?

Surprised Sorry to say moulesy field head farm has put the price up to £15 per night just seen it on there web site

Write your comments here...in their defence they have stayed at that price at £12.50 per night since opening 6 years ago.

Well, we will still happily pay £15 to stay there - if we can get in, that is! Happy

Cholsey Grange...for it's wonderful walks and wildlife, those Red Kites were a bonus!Smile

Delighted you liked our walks.  In fact we have now 'mapped' another 12 walks (2-4 hours)  or mountain-bike rides all using bridle-ways and quiet country lanes.  Any keen mountain-bikers out there keen to explore the lovely Chilterns??
