New CL's

I was reading through them whilst I had breakfast. Quite a few Adult only ones, not a problem for me but an interesting trend. Also noticed quite a few say on sloping ground which would be out for us with a motorhome. Good to see a few with details of local buses.

Vertiginous or merely a slight slope? Hopefully a close inspection GoogleEarth will indicate to viability of them.

It would seem that £15 per night is the new £12. 

Must be the first time that I have not seen a Closed CL mentioned in the mag.

I would agree about the price of £15 being the norm 

New CLs are encouraged to join the CL Owners Group which will provide advice and support.

Although it is encouraging to see 34 new CLs mentioned in the October magazine, the reality is that CL numbers are lower than 2019.   In September 2019 the club website showed 2,234 CLs, this year it was 2,218.  The trend is rising, so let's hope that the Staycation boom has prompted more landowners to apply and that their sites will be certificated before the start of the next season.

CLs continue to be concerned about increasing costs.  CL insurance has gone up considerably this year (the club no longer offer a policy so commercial brokers have stepped in), electricity usage continues to rise as newer vans adopt electric heating (and cooling).

Not all CLs are run on a commercial (for profit) basis, but I think we'd all agree that they should at least cover their running costs and have some compensation for their time and for welcoming visitors to their homes or farms.
