Map search issues for CLs

I've come across a few CL's in Northumberland that show up on the Map search and listing but when you click on the name of the CL it bounces you back to Log In even though I am logged in.

I then tried to go to 'Book a Certified Location' to find the CL's in question but when the name is typed in and search pressed it says that CL doesn't exist (or words to that effect) has anyone else come across this.

The CL's I was looking at was Fowberry Farm and Greensfield Moor Farm.

It is possible that they are no longer CL's of course, if that is the case shouldn't they be removed from the MAP search.

Phil, Fowberry is no longer on Club network. We stayed there back in 2001/2? It’s a great location, however we wouldn’t go back. Won’t say more. I don’t know the other place, but I can recommend three options that we have used and enjoyed, on more than one occasion. The CL called Brock Mill Farm is located just off road to Holy Island, small, neat, no views because it’s sheltered from weather, and there is train noise from East Coast mainline, but we didn’t find it an issue. Five minutes back out onto A1.

Further down that Holy Island Road, you will find The Barn at Beal, just off the causeway itself. Stunning, views to die for, lovely eatery on site, clean loos and showers. (subject to Covid restrictions of course) It’s not a CL, but a small private Site.

Finally, we love this place http://westkyloe.co.uk/ We have stayed here a few times, slightly more inland, but only 10 easy minutes from A1. Quiet, sheltered, stunning views all around, again it has loos and showers. It is a busy little place, very popular because it takes campers of all kinds, tiny tents to big MHS ans all in between. But is simply lovely, well run, well organised, a real gem. It does get booked up.

All three are in a fantastic area, loads to do see, walk and cycle. It may well be our area of choice this year. Beaches are fabulous, lots of wildlife.

Hope this helps. We have examples for other areas of Northumberland as well๐Ÿ‘

Edit.....update Sorry Phil, I have just checked West Kyloe website. They are undergoing some work on Farm this year, so Site won’t be opening until 2021. Big disappointment in this household!๐Ÿ™

In fairness to Fowberry, it does look different from when we visited. But I would check out reviews before I went back. http://www.bamburgh-touring-caravans.co.uk/

Thanks TTDA, OH (tammygirl) has been busy ringing around and sending emails to CL's in that area so far no one has got back to us, very frustrating.

Have looked at Fowberry Farm and agree not the place we would now choose.

I'll pass on your other suggestions to her to have a look at,  we might be a bit late in hoping for something in this area. Visited it many times over the years but usually from Berwick.

I do wish this club would sort out the 'MAP' as so many of them are out of date.

I had the same problem two weeks ago when booking a cl from the map. The cl was shown by a push pin but like you it didn't load and sent you back to the log in page. When listing the cl by name it didn't show either which tends to happen when a site has closed. I couldn't find any evidence of it closing on here so looked in the handbook and it was there. I phoned up to see what the situation was and when I got through I asked if I could book onto the caravan site. I didn't mention the term cl. That worked and I booked on. So it looks like the cl in question has gone independent.

I never use map search, tend to use County, town, tick boxes and take it from there. If you choose a CL to look at, it usually comes up with alternatives not far away, at bottom of page. It might be worth you looking in the Small Private Sites sticky thread at top of UK Sites heading for some other nice examples.

If you get as far down as Warkworth area, we used a beautiful place called Walkmill Farm. It’s not cheap, but utterly lovely, in a bend of the River Coquet. Separate van/MH field and tent field, again with lots of facilities. https://www.walkmillcampsite.co.uk/default.html

All depends on what is happening of course with individual sites.

Hadrians Wall area is woefully low on CLs, but we can recommend one at Gilsland, a short walk from Wall and Thirlwall Castle. Whittlees, taps, recycling, emptying point, views to die for, and again, lots of HW walking and cycling. Grass pitches, but firm under wheel. You can get onto local trains and tootle to Hexham, Corbridge Etc.....๐Ÿ˜

I did that as well TDA, clicked on one at the bottom and it bounces you back to log in, like HarryB says more CL's leaving the network.

Why don't the club remove them from the MAP and from the photos at the bottom of the page?  its so frustrating seeing something you like the look of to find out it no longer exists as a CL.

I would consider these sites that have left the network in normal times but just now I'm wanting to start touring using 5 vans sites to see how things go. If we feel safe and other's observe the rules then maybe but if folk just act as if nothing has happened, then we will be going back home.

There is no way at this moment in time do I want to go on a full facilities site, in high summer with children and no one behaving themselves. Neither do I want to pay the exorbitant prices of these sites an still use my own facilities.

Families will be using CLs during the summer TG, are you opting for adults only? It can get a bit limited, especially in the Northumberland area.

Have you looked at Easington or Link House Farm, they're well placed for the coast and walks etc.

Easington is one that I'm waiting to hear from brue, I phoned twice and emailed but nothing coming back frown

Looked at Link house but at £20 a bit more than I would like to pay for a CL.

Haven't looked at any AO sites yet for Northumberland area (probably isn't any) but if only 5 vans on site using own facilities then if there are families at least its not hundreds of them laughing

Might just have to wait a bit longer until the sites up here are open, I've got a few CL's booked up in Aberdeenshire already, just thought I would try Northumberland as its not to far to travel and we do like the area. Not going on a tour yet so 3 - 4 hours away is fine.

Hope you find somewhere, I've been through the lists a lot due to son living up there so I know it's not so easy to find something suitable. smile
