Last Minute Cancellation

We booked a 5 night stay at a CL. All packed up an ready to go, when the weather dramatically changed to gale force winds very heavy rain and some foggy patches. After much deliberation we decided to cancel our trip as the forecast was the same for the duration. My question is should we pay for the time booked, or agree to visit in the very near future? The site manager said we did not need to pay them and that all their bookings had been cancelled. We really feel bad about this as it is their living. What should we do?

I prefer it over here as well JVB. When towing we used to favour Sunday's for motorway driving as there were less HGV's to tangle with. Now we travel any day and just pass them, they have a lot les affect on our MH than they did on our Cadiz.😀

+1, Steve.

Travelling is so much easier with the MH, as is arriving, departing, and sight seeing enroute. Living in it isn't much different to a caravan while the water chores are certainly easier.

A pvc is not a motor caravan and can get to many more places and be used as a daily run aroundwink

That's strange as 'Motor Caravan' is exactly what my V5 says my PVC is. Are you back tracking on your oft trotted out mantra?🤔🥴

We had booked a stay of a week on a CL that we use regularly and had to cancel a few days before for unexpected medical appointments.

Offered to pay, but owner said that as it is a popular CL the vacancy will be filled very quickly.

But you say you own a motor caravan or is it camper van? which is more what a PVC is and was our first before we had a coach built  Autocruise motor caravan on a Boxer basewink

I admit to nothing other than being a little hacked off with nit picking over names.
