We are just back from a great CL called Highfields Caravan Park in Coates.

We have left the following review and recommend to CT'ers......

"Highfields Caravan Park is the first CL we have used in this area; and from staying here for our August Bank Holiday this is a CL we will now regularly visit. The drive or tow to Highfields Caravan Park is easy, which makes this CL accessible to all; we are a 9m-twin TAG motorhome and the entrance was no problem, due to the nice wide drive / gate. Trees and an open field border the CL and it has great feel of the Cambridgeshire countryside. There is plenty of room to maneuver and pitch where you feel you’d like as the EHU points are on two borders of the CL area – we did not use the EHU, as we have an excellent solar system; and Peter kindly gives a £2.50 p/night discount for non-EHU users. The ground is level and the grass is cut to a nice level; plus the grey water dump and ESLAN point is fenced in a level paved refuse area. Having two chocolate Labradors, dog walks are key for us and just outside to the right of the CL entrance provides dog walkers with a public path to open fields that the most energetic of hounds can be tired. For the more relaxing approach, the CL provides a well-stocked information hut, there is a Chinese Takeaway within a five-minute walk; plus the TV and the free WiFi is excellent. If like us you have you own Sat system the tree line does affect you getting the required lock to Astra-2, so do take care where you pitch. Peace and quiet equals’ relaxation and Highfields Caravan Park is the tonic to leave the woes of the week behind. The local village shop (five minute walk) can provide papers, milk, etc. and for those wishing to venture out in the evening there are two local pubs; however, as we never tried these – or the Chinese - we can’t comment. Either a short stay, or a base to visit the Fens, Peterborough or Cambridgeshire, I can’t think of a reason why you would not want to base yourself at Highfields Caravan Park - which is great value for money at £12.50 p/night or £10 p/night for non-EHU."

Hi Mick

Quite a detailed report and no doubt it would be welcomed by the cl owner. To that end have you put the report on the cl's entry in the cl section under UK Holidays. That way it will give all those thinking of going a good insight into the site. whereas on here, although welcome, it will eventually drop of the bottom of the page and not be seen again

Rather than posting the complete review on here, surely it would have been easier to post a link to the review.

I actually quite liked to see the review. Not being cl users ( but constantly considering ) it is nice to see the review then have a closer look on line etc. Keep them coming I say
