We're just moving on from this marvellous CL near Clitheroe. Since I don't seem to be able to add photos to my review, I thought I'd repeat it here - with some photos of the site and its surroundings.

2nd visit - not the last!

This was our second visit to this fabulous CL perched high on the hills above Clitheroe. It certainly won't be our last! Not much to add to any of the previous reviews about the site itself which has all you could possibly ask for - toilet, shower, dog friendly, free WiFi, excellent TV and phone reception. Oh, and superb views over to Pendle Hill on the other side of the valley! Plenty of local walks including one up the lane from the site itself, back across a little stream and through the adjacent woods which were dense with bluebells this week. Also a nice walk along the Ribble Way from the bridge down in West Bradford itself. Lots of interesting spots within easy driving distance, especially over the hills via Nick o' Pendle in one direction and to Dunsop Bridge - which claims to be the geographical centre of Great Britain in the other direction. Marvellous views all round. Clitheroe itself has the usual supermarkets for stocking up plus a lot of smaller independent shops - one to make a beeline for is Cowman's Famous Sausage Shop on the main street. Certainly a site we'll return to.
