If you are coming from the North West you will be travelling DOWN, as North-West is around Ullapool.  Not any roads to choose from.

HallaG, I presume you mean the NW of England. If so I would use the M6, M74, M73, A80, M80, turn off a Junct 10 (Stirling), then A84 to Lochearnhead, A85 to Crainlarich, A82 to Tyndrum and then the A85, again, onto Connel. This section of the route is the narrowest stretch rather bumpy, but no major problem!! Turn right here onto A828 and follow route direction in Site Directory. As Kennine says the views are spectacular. Enjoy.

If you're a keen walker there's a Munro, Beinn Sgulaird,  that you can do from not far along the valley. Small car park at the start if you don't want to walk from the site.

We'll be there end of August begining of September. It would be nice if you could post what it was like after you've been, Hallagather. We'd already decided to use Nellie's route and avoid up the side of Loch Lomond. We drove that journey solo a few years back and had decided that after Tarbert we didn't fancy the road with a van on the back....

No problem. It's not too hard a walk, and can be extended to take in a Corbett, too, Creach Beinn,  if you're feeling really energetic.

We stayed on this CL just after it opened and certainly plan to visit again. Ross has put a lot of work into it and now has hardstandings. The views are to die for and the road at the bottom of the site is quiet enough to walk along the Loch side to the woods where you can let a dog off its lead for a gallop. I told Ross if I were him I would open a 2nd CL in another field he has as the land he owns facing up the Loch is ideal. As a farner maybe he has enough on his hands already. Great site you will not be disappointed. The route we took from the South was to head towards Stirling then took the A84/A85 then A828. No dramas just a nice pleasant run.
