I'm sure that this has been requested before....!

We are looking fo a CL/CS in a 5 miles corridor of  the M6/M74 between the A66 & the Scottish border.

Just a one nighter at this time as we need a stop over between West Norfolk & Fort William [part 2 of our own 2016 National Three Peaks Challenge!]

Must have EHU & hardstanding.

Thanks in advance

PilgrimPhil

I'm assuming you're members of the 'other' club as well, as you mentioned CS's.

Easy access from A66/M6 and about 3 miles from Penrith is Crossfells Campsite, Clifton Dykes, Penrith.  Hardstanding pitches and EHU.  No other facilities, but perfect for an overnight stay.  It is a C&CC site.

It's not far from Yanwath Woodhouse, which is a CL.  Again very close to A66/M6.  The site has EHU but only one 'concrete' hardstanding pitch.

Having just re-read your post, the sites I mentioned may be too far south for you.  If you want to be nearer Carlisle .... not a CL, but Englethwaite Hall club site could be an option?

Not quite in your area but if you can get just over the border Whins is just off the M74 (I think about 10 miles over the border). The listing doesn't say anything about hardstandings but I'm sure there was one.

There is Newhall farm Richardson A66  appleby. Grass pitches.

And Croft end farm Val  Bellas also at appleby fully serviced hard standing pitches. We have been to both nice sites and pleasant owners.

Askew Rigg Farm is just off the A66 towards the lake side (I cannot remember how long off the M6 but it wasn't that far).  It  has gravel pitches and ehu and, if I remembere rightly as shower and toilet.  Towards Penrith we have stayed at The Old Station but it is not hard standing.

We have stayed at Croft End Farm also. We were very impressed with fully serviced pitches with a fantastic view. Made very welcome by The Bellas family. Appleby a good place to visit. Don't attempt to go this weekend as Appleby Horse Fair in progress from tomorrow until  Monday, fantastic if you are interested, we went several years ago what an adventure Watching the horses being washed in the river at Appleby was spectacular.

There's Slapstone Villa, Stainton, No.300 in Site Directory. It's about 1 ml from the Penrith M6 turnoff along the A66 towards Keswick.  Has H/S & EHU.

Thanks for all those suggestions -  I will follow them up tomorrow.

We have stayed at Croft End Farm three times already! Super site - everytime we visit the hardstandings have got bigger! Great for accessing High Cup from Dufton. It's just a bit short of where we would like to be though - further up the M6 would be preferabel.

Thanks again

There's Dalston Leisure Caravan Site, No.266. Not too far off M6 south of Carlisle. H/S and toilet & shower. Would definitely recommend it.
