Do any members have any recommendations for a CL site in the Lake District. Keswick, Windermere , consisting. Anywhere like that. Would appreciate a recommendation rather than just online search

David not a CL but a small ind site with 10 hard standings each fully srviced (also now has toilet & shower for free) is Threlkeld Hall caravan park.

Its about 5 miles outside of Keswick just off A66 with Blencathra rising behind the village.

Weve stayed there for last 3 years it is higher priced than CL but worth it.

Shoulthwaite Fm, Naddle, Keswick, No 281 in Site Directory. Easy to get to, H/S but is popular so you might struggle to get a pitch at short notice. There are no CLs at Windermere.

We like Irton House Farm (number 270 in the book)  It's a nice, peaceful site with fantastic views over Bassenthwaite Lake (which incidentally is the only 'Lake' in the Lake District Laughing)

It is well off the main road, and there are a couple of good pubs in Bassenthwaite village with good food.

Very handy for Keswick, but away from the crowds Wink

David,  after typing a detailed reply I was timed out!!

Askew Rigg Farm (number 278)  near Keswick, has easy access from A66 and lovely views.  We've stayed a few times.  The pitches are on the side of the farm drive (rather than in a separate field) so you do get the occasional vehicle going straight past your pitch.  This didn't bother us, but it may bother some.

It may help if you could tell us what type of CL you like, and what facilities you need Smile

That's interesting, Trini. It did used to be a CL didn't it, but a very expensive one. I guess they've decided to go it alone with more pitches. Superb location and a couple of excellent pubs up in the village.

The only other CL I had in mind, is very basic.  Slightly sloping field with EHU but no showers.  Hopefully someone will have a recommendation that will suit you, and have everything you need  Smile  Wherever you choose ... hope you have a great time Smile
