CL opening date!

The below was just posted on Facebook by the owner of a CL. I wonder why none of the other CL owners have posted a similar comment on CT, and why the club is proposing opening club sites 10 days before allowing CL's to do so. Could it be that HO want to ensure that they grab as many members as possible that are desperate to get away in their units before those members decide that CLs are a safer option while the virus is still with us?

"We have now been informed by the CAMC that we can open on the 15th July providing no problems from Scottish Govt.
Will love to see some Visitors as has been a very lonely few months, and lets hope many of our Tourist Attractions will open as well. With fully serviced pitches it means our Visitors will be very self contained."

Not awful at all but what I object to is not being able to use a club facility, in the guise of a CL in this instance, because someone who is not a club member and therefore not entitled to use the facility, has prevented me from using it. I'm sure this will be the feeling of most members. If not, why are we all paying our membership fees each year if CLs can be available to anyone? It isn't even a case of non-members paying a higher nightly fee when it comes to CLs.

CLs are privately owned 5van sites as CSs with the ccc and are expected to be used as per the certificate issued by any organisation that is allowed to run them ,and unless those legally staying on such sites report to their clubs that non members are being "welcomed?"by the owners then how can it be policed? when there are thousands of 5van Certified Sites around the UK

But in this instance the OP did report it 3 months ago, yet to date there is no change on the CL's own website.  Had a look myself, as Derbyshire is an area we go to sometimes, and can also see on the photos that the hardstandings in question look very close together.  I wouldn't be happy to be on one of those.  And it makes no mention at all of the fact that it is a CAMC CL.

I wonder if Maddie at HO can give us any idea if this matter has been investigated again by the powers that be. Or is just wishful thinking again on my part?

Hi Nellie

The CL owners have been advised to follow the relevant Government guidelines with regards to if their sites can remain open or if they can offer facilities such as toilet or showers.

Some CL Owners have decided to remain closed this year, or not offer facilities if they decide it is the best option for them and their CL sites.

Thanks

Maddie

Thanks, Maddie, but the problem was that the H/S are too close together and that on the owner's web site there is no mention of the site being restricted to CC members only, as is the requirements of it being a CL.
