Hi

I recently tried to book a CL for 3 nights, only to be told by the owner they are saving the pitches for min 7 night stays, is this becoming the new norm in anyone else's experience?

Regards

I’d go elsewhere and never consider them again but it’s their choice.

+1, there’s way too much choice Around to be dictated to re stay time control. It’s my money & my choice. Cost I’m not too fussy about but days of stay I am👍🏻

Is it to far to travel to work for the odd days surprised

Unfortunately it is.  If it's still there when I eventually retire, I may just get to try it.   I'm probably too young at 52 for their clientele wink

My biggest grouse about the CL in Fareham  was about being told a price and then the owner wanting more when I got there. Since this incident I have always when possible e mailed the CL for the price then kept a copy just in case.

I have been more than satisfied with that CL DT, although I have only actually seen one of the owners once I find them friendly and efficient to deal with. The lady keeps the diary on her phone and the last twice I have called she has taken the call in her car, pulled up and taken the booking. When we arrive the white board says where to pitch, and we post the fee using the supplied envelope. Its tidy and well kept and at about half the price of the nearest club site if I wanted to stay in the Portsmouth area it would be my first choice.

Regarding the Ops point about minimum stay there seem to be several here who appear to take it as a personal insult not to be allowed to stay as they choose.  Its a business and as is so often advised here whenever a question about CAMC sites is raised "if you dont like it go elsewhere"

Ahh! But you weren't told that it was £14 and asked to pay £15 on arrival David! laughing

Judging by the number of "content removed", this thread has generated more heat than light. If the T&Cs require more nights than I require, I'll just go elsewhere.
