Due to lockdown our annual site WiFi subscription has not be able to be used. I telephoned Air Angel the providers who kindly extended both mine and my wife’s annual subscription by three months. It was all done over the phone on 0333 240 7610. Hope that is helpful to other members in this situation.

The problem is that the club has got a mixed charging policy for “extras” so everyone has to pay towards washing up areas and shower blocks whether they use them or not, so perhaps the same should apply to WiFi. Perhaps my logic is wrong but I’m sure someone will tell me.

Logic probably a bit wide of the mark perhaps in that you wouldn't book a hotel room and expect to pay extra to have a shower or use the toilet? However many hotels do charge for WiFi although some do offer a basic/limited service free. By all accounts the Club initially (and may still be doing so) invested a lot in the provision of WiFi on sites. Because the take up of such a service was unknown it was right to threat it as an extra?

Have just returned home from 6 nights at Cherry Hinton .Had been there for about an hour or so when we realised that the WiFi wasn't working so reported it to the site manager who after checking the repeater that was next to our van confirmed that the trip switch was knackered and duly reported it. Left site yesterday and bu##er all had been done to rectify the problem. If that's the level of CMC's and Air Angels service I'm not surprised that people are leaving WiFi subscription in their droves . Happy to take your money , but if there's a problem , you are on your own.

I’ve never had the need to use WiFi until recently. Access to our storage site has changed to self access via a code pad and they say they’ll change the code and notify by email, so we thought it prudent to take an iPad with us. Just in case they changed the code while we were away.
I tried to register several times but each time after entering my details I was taken round in circles to the register screen time and again. Having finally given up, some days later I  noticed the WiFi symbol come up on my phone, and discovered that we had free WiFi. Now I know why!

In normal times I don’t think anyone would pay full facility prices if they didn’t intend using the facility block.

I stated my preference but it doesn't mean I’m right and you're wrong. My experience of site Wi-fi is that it has been quite appalling so I choose not to buy it. Therefore, I don’t want to be charged for it by the back door, ie in with pitch fees.

I usually find the Wifi fine. I am happy to pay for it rather than have it free as, if everybody used it, it might no be

For the last three weeks of cc sites have not had to pay for WiFi on any site, ,then yesterday when logging in it came up that payment was required,

Except as usual for this website which is still free on sites,

Enquiries seem to get a couple of explanations?

1 there is/was a  problem at Air Angels end??

2 it was free while the system was being upgraded with the help of Bt Openreach.?

What eve ,r it now seems apart from this website payment is required to get any other websites via Air Angel, and as you can only pay when on a club site ,and the WiFi is not secure frown

Tethering is a good idea, but what to do when there is no 4G mobile signal - not that unusual on Club sites in my experience - even on EE which supposedly is one of the best for coverage. Very frustrating on site a couple of weeks ago when repeatedly blocked from the remainder of my annual cover. Contacted Air Angel who simply said that the Club had a UK-wide problem, followed by some (largely unintelligible) comment about "free".."daily" etc without any explanation of how to access.

What to do?.....pick up a good book!

Are you suggesting that we should be offered reduced prices because we never use the facility block? Great idea, do you have any special influence with The Club? ....it would be greatly appreciated!

No, I didn't suggest that.

In normal times (again) the facility blocks have, in my experience, been first class and in working order - there for the taking. I cannot say the same for site wifi.

If I didn’t want to use the facility block, I’d not go to a 'full fat' site.

Air Angel had a club problem nation wide, and were offering "covid?"which gave. free WiFi,, but I understand it was resolved? last week when the normal price range was again advertised on this website

Ps I wonder if it was to do with the upgrade as BT open reach have been seen on both site we have used up to now
