Praise and Bewilderment.

Upon buying my new car recently I searched for a tow bar dealer.  Several companies offered varying degrees of service with non-standard electrics and spurious relays of a BEWILDERING  variety.

Rotherham Towing Centre came back with a first class PRAISEWORTHY quote to supply and fit a branded demountable tow bar plus Vauxhall approved loom and electronics.

Old caravan sold the hunt for a replacement began, not new but as new as possible. Criteria?  2 berth end bathroom with motor mover.  BEWILDERMENT set in when I was about to buy a 2018 Bailey holding deposit paid I set about researching a front towing cover.  Pro-Tec were PRAISEWORTHY as they suggested I check my van details as my van was not produced in 2018.  The dealer left me to total BEWILDERMENT when he admitted  that the van was in fact a 2013 but had been first registered in 2018.  I guess they avoided trade description prosecution - just.

MOVING BEWILDERMENT set in when enquiring about several vans from two other dealers that showed the vans with motor movers fitted.  One dealer said that the movers would be removed and were not for sale but offered brand new installations starting at £1k.  The second dealer occasioned STATIC BEWILDERMENT with notices on their vans stating that movers were not included but would be removed or could be purchased for £500.  Every mover appeared to be priced at £500 regardless of model, age or condition plus no guarantee offered,

I was left in TOTAL BEWILDERMENT with the fear that if I do not buy a van soon each wheel might cost me an extra £200, the toilet might come in at a hefty £500 and I might have to sleep on the floor if I cannot afford the extra £100 per mattress.

FEARFUL BEWILDERMENT was overcome when I found a dealer that offered me a deal on a 2019 van with new mover and a Pro-Tec cover.  The cautionary tale is clear but be assured there are honourable dealers out there you just have to work at finding them.

Does the club have a view on dodgy mover practice?
