Maypole caravan top cover

We fitted our roof cover to the caravan as stated and followed picture. When we got back to the caravan which was after the lockdown passed we found that the straps on the front which are tied to the handles have scuffed both sides of the window and also the side panels have been scratched at the bottom near the door where the other straps were tied. Has anyone come across this? Very upset as we bought it to protect our price and joy.
