Carthago flat stater battery

I have a Carthago with a Pioneer head unit, which i believe is dragging the starter battery down. You can turn the unit off via the touch screen but that only puts it into stand-by, still quite a draw.

by turning off the media button the unit will power down with just enough current for the memory, but can't use the TV, media as intended, cant see the point in that.

I understand that Carthago have modified the system for 2018 vans, does anyone know what that was?
