With in excess of 22,000 members, the Motorhome Madness Face book group has rapidly become the meeting place for Motorhome owners to share ideas and experiences. Many of our group are Caravan and Motorhome Club members, and we would like to extend a welcome to any CMC members who would like to join our group.

the disadvantage is that its on FBundecided and like everything ive seen on there, its just one long string of muddled comments....wheres the structure like most decent forums have?

how do two or three folk discuss an manage a particular issue without all the other (non relevant) stuff in between?

looks exactly like the 'what are you upto today thread,,,,' on CT, and just like every other FB page ive seen.....not that many, ill admit.

I tend to agree that Facebook forums do lack the structure of a conventional forum. I expect the problem is that the people that start them either don't have the knowledge or time required to run a conventional forum or find it far easier and less time consuming to run a Facebook page. However they are often useful for a quick answer to a problem which let's face it is what you need rather than a drawn out discussion over several weeks? I think also the conventions on a Facebook page differ so much from a convention forum so you do get a load of personal stuff posted in with the technical discussions and no way of filtering it out. Unfortunately that is the modern way and I don't see it changing anytime soon!

yes, DK, im sure you're right, as is (are?) K&M....not something id be interested, i find the 'normal' type of forums like MHF, MHFun, OALive far more focussed.

apparently, there is an Owners Club page for our MH but (like the one for CC) i wont be popping in there any time soon....undecided

When I helped OH set up a social forum site we started after lunch the day before going on holiday and All the sections and starter threads were in place for the next morning. OH runs it and it requires very little upkeep.
