Bank holiday Friday night, £40 + per night and club house closed, presumably because no staff and no warning just the shutters down. Come on club you can do better than this. Charge top dollar so provide the facilities. Just not good enough.

It is annoying when so much paid for facilities but hopefully just the one night, a notice on the door would have been useful. This sort of thing is happening all over Devon I’m afraid. A pub local to us has closed for a fortnight. They need the business after the last 18 months but, they just can’t get staff and those they have sometimes have to isolate. Apart from the food bookings, which they can control, they are inundated with customers in the beer garden for drinks. Customers become abusive or give them bad feedback due to waiting times, due to lack of staff. So, all in all they decided, that although they need the business they will close until the main holiday period is over. It’s a strange time and I think we all just have to be patient and understanding.

We only have what has been posted    no information that there was not a note somewhere, as who reads notices as can be deduced with some of the reviews of sitesundecidedwink

If I recall correctly from past posts when certain facilities were not available due to some unforeseen mishap, like no hot water for example or showers, they didn't give out refunds did they?

It is unfortunate but beyond the control of the club. Of course if it was a longer term problem then that is something else.

There was a notice on the Hillhead website details yesterday. It's very unfortunate but a lot of venues are struggling to stay open with rising Covid rates and staff absences. I think everyone needs to be prepared that this could happen, both on and off sites.

The bar, restaurant and entertainment complex are currently closed. Please keep an eye on this webpage for further updates and be assured the Club will reopen these facilities as soon as we can.

No offer of compensation it appears. Earlier this year my car was booked in for a service. Unfortunately my mechanic had fallen down stairs and laid off for a month with tendon damage to his leg. He was not charging for the service he could not provide and nor should the club

These kind of situations bring into sharp focus just how bad things are getting for some businesses, but spare a thought for staff in places where they struggle on and try to remain open. I’ve seen some absolutely dreadful behaviour towards staff in local hospitality venues this year. Rude, arrogant and sometimes aggressive behaviour seems to be a by product of the staycation boom. In many cases those at the sharp end are just kids.

It must be a local, problem as Seacroft and Knaresborough. restaurants. are operating ,,there is a separate manager at Hillhead for the complex .

ET. I'm just pointing out the notice given. Not everyone uses the facilities provided but last year there were reduced rates when the pool was closed. I expect this is a considerable problem for many businesses just now and hopefully the club will respond.

Torbay has rapidly rising Covid rates.

I am not surprised covid rates are rising in many areas ,there was a queue for the mens toilets this morning(we can see from our pitch)OH passed a comment that there was not a mask to be seen,

When I got our paper this morning the Tesco Express I went to Myself and two others were the only ones wearing masks apart from the staff in the shop, there is a large notice outside requesting mask be warn if possible

We didn’t get any reduction for Culloden when the facilities were out of operation. Although we were contacted over a week before and told of the situation. So it was our choice to go. If I was on site for a week and they were closed after my first day, I would expect a discount, as I had arrived at the site expecting them to be available.

I went to get our paper this morning and the shop was closed because of a pandemic ping so had to go another few miles to the next place for the paper, it happens in these times at very short notice

Yes, but they didn't charge you for the Saturday paper and leave out the supplement.

if that had been missing from your paper I'll wager you'd take Rosa (or whoever) back to the shop looking for what you had paid for.

It doesn't matter 'whose fault it is' the customer has a contract with the club to deliver the purchased services, and would be entitled to redress, no?
