Wing Mirror Collapses

We have a Kia Sorento KX-2 2012 model and we are very happy with the towing capabilities of this car. We tow a Stirling Amber Elite and you would not know it was on the back. In the first year we went all over the UK and even to the South of France with no problems whatsoever. I use mirror extensions which hold onto the car mirror by two large rubber straps.

The first year we had no problems but this second year the f/o/s wing mirror keeps collapsing against the car everytime a large vehicle passes in the opposite direction. It does not feel lose and I have no problem with the f/n/s wing mirror. Its a recommended wing by Kia and I have no idea why this probloem has occured. I have no problems when driving without the extension attached.

Kia state that they will put a neew one on at huge expense and I see no reason why I should have to pay for a fault that is not of my doing. Some members at sites have suggested tying the wing mirror to the bonnet of the car but this would look awful and is not a very good advertisement for a brand new car.

Any assistance in this matter would be gratefully appreciated.

Regards Chris
