which people carrier tows best?

we currently tow our Bailey Pageant single axle with a nissan patrol which is great. however we need to get a 8 or 9 seater to accommodate more children.  we are thinkng about a Mercedes Vito, Volkswagan Transporter or Hyandai i800 as they would have the space for the children and for the two dogs!!!!!  What is your experience of these vehicles for towing? Even when a vehicle can supposedly tow the weight of a van, some are better than others.  Any other suggestions?
