£30k should get you a well spec'd hyundai santa fe thats fairly new. It will pull 1200kg with no problems.

I have a heavier van so was looking at bigger cars but at that weight you must look at the Mazda CX5. They claim a 2 tonne towing ability, I don’t think it is quite that good but a 1200kg van would be no problem.

That’s a very vague question, m0rrisman. Do I suggest a used Landrover and find it’s something you hate or a brand new petrol Peugeot when you’d prefer a diesel?…..🤷🏻‍♂️

£30k will buy you a very nice 6 pot Merc GLE (no ... I don't have one) .... it'd pull 2 x 1200kg caravans 😉

Or a Merc E220d estate . I do have one and it pulls 1300kg like a train - and still can accelerate uphill if required !

you should always aim for more cylinders than doors 😉😉
