Purchased the van Sept 2011 , I towed it back from place of purchase, 34 miles.  I had a slow puncture prior to towing the van, I didn't think to get it sorted before towing.

In any case, got the van home no problem but managed to scrub both the rear tyres inside tread etc, typre pressure was probably around 15 on one, 20 on the other.  I now know they should have been at least 35 on the rears 32 to 35 on the front.  A costly mistake.

In any case, we are now almost ready to take a trip out, ok ten months have beeen wasted, van has sat on the drive and hasn't moved since i first towed it bac,  I have just had it properly serviced on the drive, and we've finally got it all together to go, just a few bits left ( see my post re wheel clamps/insurance)

In any case, I have an Alko stabiliser which creaked like a goodun when towing it home, took the stabiliser back and it was replaced with a new one and I have since replaced the std towequipe alko copy with a genuine Alko towball and have sanded off the black paint from the towball as advised to by the person servicing my van.  I assume it's ok to sand the paint off the towball?  it's all shiny now.

I have purchased two lightweight calor bottles and will take one of these with us but it's the noseweight I am a littke freaked about.  I've read to the death about distributing the weight of your own bits and pieces towards the rear but as close to the axle as you can.

How do I measure my noseweight (if it's a tool where do i buy it and roughly how much are they?)

Also, what is the preferred noseweight for my car/van

Thankyou for any advice, please see my other threads re wheel clamp and insurance/breakdown recovery.
