I have a Rexton Ultimate and only used it twice for towing my caravan.
On the way home today, suddenly it would not change gear. It was like in limp mode only going into second so going up hill was a real pain. Once we stopped and removed the caravan with engine off) it seemed fine again even the kick down was back. But the seat memory was gone so had to reset it. I believe it was a glitch in the system, but wondered if any one else has had this?

The only experience I have of this type of thing while towing was my old volvo v70. The auto box went into limp mode on the French motorway. The area had some steep hills and the garage that reset the gearbox said it had over heated and went into limp mode to protect itself.

I think I was over doing it on the up hill stretches as for the rest of the holiday it was fine when I took my time and didnt force kick downs.

Cheers
