Sorry but thats a Cherokee in my avatar as this website doesn't like me changing it. frown Like i said I have a Grand Cherokee now smile. It's just like everything in life, some things change for the better and if FCA can change the fortunes of Jeep then that must be a good thing. Look at all the motorhomes on the road that are 20/30 years old and most are based on the Fiat engine and chassis. As soon as people mension Italian they think back to the days of the Lancia and Alfa's. rust buckets and very unreliable.

I'll have another go at changing the avatar but don't won't hold my breath. undecided

DD, who says they do not? I think you need to read and research just how much JLR invest in R & D, the technology they are developing and their future product plans. I accept the reliability and build quality still needs work but compared with only a few years ago (when owned by Ford......) they have come on leaps and bounds. However if I was in the market for a used 4x4 on a tight budget, the list would be along the lines of Kia, Hyundai, Volvo, possibly Ssangyong, possibly Jeep, possibly VW TOUAREG, possibly Subaru. It would probably NOT be a L/R product......
